A chapel at St Teilo's for small services, and a memorial to the parish's war dead. The gable end is given over to a tree, cut in oak.

St Teilo's is the church Josh's grandmother attended, and she was the one who told us the project was happening. We went to the church rather than waiting to be asked, and offered to put a proposal together for them to look at.
The building has two jobs. It is a chapel for small church events, and it is a memorial to the people of the parish who served and died in the two World Wars.
The parish paid for it.
Traditional pegged green oak on a stone plinth, single glazed. Two and a half metres wide by about five metres long.
The gable end is a tree. A trunk rises from the sill beam and branches out in curved oak to fill the frame, with the glazing set between the limbs. From inside, you look out through it into the churchyard.
It is the same detail as the oak branch bracing we first drew for Kim at Duffryn Mawr, and this is as far as we have taken it — not a brace within a frame, but the whole gable.
Our scope was the oak frame above the stonework. The stone wall and the stone floor were laid by A.H. Stonework and Building, and the door was made by Regwood Joinery.
Completed May 2023.
