A multi-level pergola round a sunken fire pit, with two hanging oak sofas in it.
We were recommended by no30designstudio, a garden designer we have worked with before. The pergola was one element of a much larger development being built by Valla Homes. The brief was a multi-level oak pergola built around a sunken fire pit, incorporating two hanging oak sofas.
The design is deliberately plain — the interest is in the levels and in the fire pit, not in the frame. It carries a lot of canopy timbers, which is what puts shade under it. The sofas are our existing hanging sofa design adapted to suit, finished with waterproof cushions.
Our scope was the pergola and the sofas, inside a larger development run by Valla Homes.
